 Career Summary
I grew up in Aberdeen, SD, and when my dad started racing I was always interested in helping whenever I could. I started in Street Stock at age 16, driving a Dodge of course. Raced Street Stock for about four years and then ran the Sportsman class for a couple of years. Then I raced WISSOTA Late Model for two seasons. Those two years in the Late Model produced 11 Feature wins racing at our local track in Aberdeen on Friday nights, Huron, SD on Saturdays, and then in Watertown, SD on Sundays. The following year Aberdeen's Brown County Speedway was looking for a new promoter so my wife and I took over the task of running the track for the next six years. Work brought us to Omaha, building apartment buildings, retirement complexes, and restaurants. After six years of promoting a racetrack and a few more years moving to the Omaha area and settling in, the racing bug bit again and I started racing once more, and after such a long time out of the seat, it took some time to get back to where I had left off. We raced the Limited Late Model class for three years, and then in 2002, made the jump to Super Late Model.

 Racing Goals
To win more races, of course! My main goal each night is to go out and race the track, not the other cars. When we get the car fast on the track, then we can race the other cars.

 Other Interesting Team Information
One question I always get is about the car number, U2. It's the only number I have ever used and probably ever will. While I do enjoy the music of the band U2, they have nothing to do with the number. I got the number from watching some old race films from Tacoma Park Speedway just northeast of Aberdeen when I was 13 or 14 years old with my dad. I made the comment about Goerge LaMont's orange coupe, numbered U2, that if I ever built a racecar, it will be orange and have the number U2 on the doors. My first racecar was orange with a white U2 on the doors. All the cars I have raced have all been Dodges or Plymouths. I have been a Richard Petty fan forever and if Dodge was good enough for the King it was good enough for me. My dad who will be 66 this year will again, like so many other years, bring out the blue #17 Dodge Intrepid, and will be a strong runner in the WISSOTA Late Model class at all three tracks in northeast SD.
