400 ford modified replaces 351M/400M fresh rebuild
400 Ford Engine (numbers on castings indicate this is a 1971 engine) Block was hot-tanked and steam cleaned
New Core Plugs
New Camshaft Bearings
.030 Federal-Mogul Forged Pistons
.030 Enginetech Rings on Pistons
NAPA 3400 .001US Connecting Rod Brgs
Federal Mogul 5107 M 1 .001US Main Crankshaft Bearings
Reconditioned Cylinder Heads (head surface planed, valves and seats ground and guides replaced where needed) 8 valve guides replaced, new valve seals installed
Misc. parts include:
Flywheel, used water pump, used distributor, used oil pump and driveshaft, fuel pump, fuel pump eccentric for cam, cam retaining plate and bolts, 2 exhaust manifolds, timing cover, harmonic balancer, used cam and lifters, timing set, flex plate that goes between engine and transmission, valve covers, oil pan, rocker arms and push rods.
No Intake manifold
Engine work done by ASE master certified mechanic, engine is partially back together but will need more parts to complete assembly. I bought this engine for a project that has taken a different direction. This engine will bolt up where a 351M, 400M 429 or 460 was. I was going to replace a 460 in a truck. Project took a different course.
