Just a big thanks to everyone who helped and raced for our practice day. We are currently trying to figure out the plans for the upcoming race/event 2013 season at BCS.
Thanks Again for the great time.

Imca for mods in 2013?

QMotorsportsPosted on 10/31/2012 5:24:29 PM

BCS would have to wait out a 1 year period before an IMCA sanction would be granted if we decide to go IMCA

imca4rwPosted on 11/1/2012 10:00:33 AM

Why is that?....there is a track here in az that was closed for three years and they are reopening to imca sanction? ???????

az12Posted on 11/1/2012 10:25:53 AM

Sometimes Bret has the final say on a sanction. If it's so many miles from another, etc.

Osky went from USRA to IMCA, no wait. There are NO rules written in concrete when it comes to IMCA.

would be nice u go imca

lets go racing drivers

salty dogPosted on 11/3/2012 11:23:23 AM

I also vote for IMCA and sunday nites.

moparracerPosted on 11/3/2012 7:28:29 PM

Just my opinion, but I think that if it's at all possible, the new management should try to get IMCA sanction. It just gives racers another reason to come out on Sundays other than just to race. A lot of guys chase IMCA points, and this gives them another opportunity to do so.

My opinion is, they should grab up Friday nights. With Albion not knowing if the lease is gonna get renewed or not, Friday would be choice. Go imca. Sundays are for fixing damaged cars, family time and relaxing getting ready for the work week. Also go weekly, not monthly. Get in your 12-14 shows and get out. I dont know if you will get some of the racers that are fighting for points somewhere else just to hit a special once a month.

sunday nights by a long ways.... beatrice and i80 run fridays. and imca is the only way to go.

I don't think there is a problem with albion renewing the lease on the track

pospisil123Posted on 11/6/2012 8:20:47 AM

just heard again that the krohns said they did not want to run the track again but would prepare it for some one to lease it.

DTRacer30Posted on 11/6/2012 9:04:55 AM

I think NASCAR is the way to go, way better pay out at the end of the year, would love to have another nascar track to race at besides I-80.

lets_race_twoPosted on 11/6/2012 11:25:17 AM

Here are some options and as a driver I don't know which way I want more yet. I will run butler regardless.

1. IMCA- Run Fridays. If the track is ran right, it can pull enough cars from albion and beatrice that are running for national points. Those who choose to run NASCAR national points will go to i80 anyway. possibly Partner for dual points/prizes with Eagle

2. IMCA- Run Saturdays. Bring in 360's. Should get enough cars from the area that won't want to haul to eagle. possibly Dual points with albion/beatrice

3. NASCAR- Run Saturdays. Coop with Junction and run alternating weeks with late models and mods. Keep hobbys, b mods, streets, compacts as weekly series.

There are alot of options out there for butler. Dual points are just another option the track can look at, don't have to do it. I will be at Butler no matter what decision they make!

DTRacer30Posted on 11/6/2012 11:42:12 AM

Another option would be to run fridays, NASCAR and work with junction on classes, with running same classes at same tier. would get good car count as most cars would be local from columbus to york type area.

gregg63Posted on 11/6/2012 1:21:35 PM

I think the biggest question is what is going to fill the stands? Thats what will decide what classes and types of shows to have there. Will they do better with local drivers or big name celebrity guys that come there from timbucktwo for a special show? I would imagine that is why they will try some different things this year, to find out what type of racing sells a crowd and what didnt? Or am I thinking to logicaly that you need a crowd to keep a track open?

salty dogPosted on 11/6/2012 3:16:14 PM

no crowd; racetrack fails.....simple as that. i'd say gregg63 has it correct. nascar tracks haven't got much of a track record as far as drawing fans.

DTRacer89Posted on 11/6/2012 3:24:26 PM

location location location.. that plays a BIG factor into it..
