You know when I first got involved with this crazy sport I was told that the drivers had some superstitions. One was never to paint a car green. This one I never really understood as Jim Wyman had a white car with green numbers. Bill Richards in IMCA Hobby Stocks had a green car. Now the ones that come to mind today are Danica Patrick and Lord knows that shes had her share of bad luck. Saturday night I noticed Matt Kenseths car was an off green and he crashed. The next one is to never use the number 13. Now my memory escapes as to who might have used this number. But today it is Casey Mears car number. Never use a number that if you got upside down read the same as when it was on its wheels. And lastly do not eat peanuts on the trailer. If anyone else can think of any others let me know. Todays younger racer would probably have knowledge of these superstitions. Lee Ackerman probably knows some more.

I remember when I first started racing I bought some chicken strips to eat and stopped at Brad Perdue's pit to talk..... Let me just say never ever take chicken to Brads pit I'm pretty sure he called me a BLANKITY BLANK BLANK BLANKER!!!

One superstition the guys used to have was not wanting to be photographed before the races - it led to bad luck.

A guy who used to run stockcars Pete Rasmussen ran a green #13 car I guess to bads make a good he was fast lol

I have always heard (and been told directly) never eat any sort of chicken on raceday!

Ours was to always eat a bag of cherry nibs on the way to the races.In 2006 it worked pretty good. Must of ate 2 bags the night we won double A's LOL

Are you thinking of Andy Rasmussen, in the green 13 car? Didn't he and Charlie Summers team up way back then? Andy was always smiling!
