I think they should add another three or four classes. Start at noon and run until midnight.

Wow! Incredibly disappointing. Other than the Lucas Oil weekend (which Roger isn't promoting)and the Nebraska Cup, I'm sure Roger has chased away some race teams and most importantly numerous race fans. 5 classes are just too many!

Thanks for putting the Pro Ams on the schedule. Will have to try and make it out. Assuming you would allow IMCA Stock Cars to run with the Pro Ams.

Don't be a blinkin because you'll get passed by the Hot Rod Lincoln.

Moses,

There were many nights during the summer where we'd push off for a heat race at 7:00pm and not get back on the track for four hours. Nothing like running the sprints first and last...

rstar,

I've heard the same thing from sprint car fans who do not want to come out because of all the other classes.

I think everyone should just sit back , relax, and just see how it goes. This is something the track is trying for a reason. Maybe it will work, maybe it wont. But I dont think anyone who is a REAL EAGLE RACEWAY FAN would turn down race night just cause 1 extra class is added. The way I see it is either show up or dont, if ya dont it will just open up more pit stalls for new drivers and seats for new fans. But I know I will be there full time racing because I enjoy the track, the competition, and most important, the way the track gives back to the fans for all the support. So lets just ride it out and see. I'm sure I will still have a great time every Saturday night despite the added class.

Sincerely,

71k

Gonna get'em

pushtruckPosted on 12/14/2009 10:07:36 PM

Why dont you guys wait and see how things work out before you try to slaughter the track. As I see it you have two choices go or dont. If you dont where else are you going to go? One of the Eagle regulars told me earlier that Eagle was too close to go anywhere else, Im sure when the dust settles thats whats going to happen here.

This may be a good thing for the track it will bring in more cars and more fans which is never bad for the balance sheet So, lets show the new class how hospitable we can be and welcome them with open arms.

If I remember right, the newsletter that was just mailed out a few weeks ago said that Roger is thinking about starting at 6:30 to facilitate the extra class.

I'm just sitting here right now sort of in disbelief. It's only December, and everyone's getting their panties in a bunch over a TENTATIVE schedule. Can't anybody just be happy that they have a track that's trying to do right by as many people as possible? You have a great facility, great racing, overall pretty good fans, friendly racers, but some just want to whine and complain that something doesn't suit exactly what THEY want.

How about we all just try to enjoy the off season as much as we can, get through the holidays with as much sanity remaining as we can, and let Roger and his crew decide what they feel will be best for THIER race track as the winter progresses.

They seem to have done a pretty good job so far.

....ok, I'll shut up now.

I rarely made hotlaps at 6:00 driving from Omaha. Thank goodness the sheriff didn't sit on highway 63. So I'm not a fan of a 6:00 start time!

Edited on: 12/14/2009 11:55:17 PM

I'm not suffering from insanity. I'm enjoying every minute of it!

MosesPosted on 12/15/2009 7:30:28 AM

Really, if I don't see seven hours and 800 green flag laps it's just not a good night at the races.

Newsflash, I'm not an Eagle fan. I'm a sprint car fan. Five classes are too many, and I have no problem "slaughtering" the track management over this one.

Proudly wearing my title as a whiny sprint car elitist!

Weasel PosterPosted on 12/15/2009 8:37:40 AM

So why don't you and the rest of the "whiny sprint car elitists" spend your seven hours on the road to and from the great knoxville every week, and put your money where your keyboard is? Then you can become critics of things like "Knoxville and Goodyear tires", and cure their problems too.

You sure your not worried because the other classes have been putting on a better show than the sprints lately? Especially the mods. Enjoy your travels.

Ring of FirePosted on 12/15/2009 8:57:52 AM

Thank you Eagle! The sprints have not been putting on a good show for a while now. We need more stock cars and classes that will put on a show. Bring the pro-ams in every night! The only thing that could top this would be to drop the tuners and add the crate late models!

scotch bingingtonPosted on 12/15/2009 9:11:39 AM

Yeah ring of fire, add even more stock classes then we can turn this place into I-80 too!

Maybe weasel that's why people complain and if you look there's more making the trip to Knoxville anyhow. I guarantee you that if the mods had to wait four hours between races or the hobbies or the compacts did they'd bitch too and they'd have a legit beef too. Maybe he needs to learn track prep so he doesn't have to have the sprints run it in first all the time to keep it from being a rut fest.

MosesPosted on 12/15/2009 9:56:59 AM

I can just imagine Weasel Poster sitting over his keyboard, fuming.

That image makes me smile.

Weasel PosterPosted on 12/15/2009 10:05:43 AM

Well you just keep on imagining. Who's fuming? I think you are hilarious. I enjoy seeing your panties in a bunch.

MosesPosted on 12/15/2009 10:09:43 AM

My enjoyment of Eagle's program has been going down for a long time. However, I haven't been a weekly fan there since 2006. Really, 2010 won't change much for me.

I'll settle for my boring sprint cars at Knoxville again this year.

Mostly I like to comment on topics that I am sure will generate responses from the fender crowd.

Thanks!

Weasel PosterPosted on 12/15/2009 10:19:49 AM

So what do you care then? Are you an owner? No. Are you a driver? No. Are you a weekly fan? No. Knowing that, do you think anybody cares about your opinion? NO!

I am none of the above either, but I'm just having too much fun generating responses from you.

MosesPosted on 12/15/2009 10:30:03 AM

Nobody cars about my opinion?

Dang. Well, you win.

no1remembers2ndPosted on 12/15/2009 11:01:55 AM

I don't "car" about your opinion either. Does your employer know that you're slamming the fender class? Doesn't he sell a lot of parts to them?

MosesPosted on 12/15/2009 12:23:32 PM

Good catch on the spelling error. Sloppiness on my part.

I think it's safe to assume that my employer sells many parts to fender classes.

Doesn't mean I personally enjoy them.
