According to the so called "tech official" the track has, tyler's venturi's were to big. even though the gauge stopped at the top of the carb, until the official wiggled it down the carb. It's also pretty sad when the track official has to ask someone else "that is not an official" whether its legal or not. It was a b.s. call, especially when a sport mod driver was said don't bring it back next week, and he got to keep his finish and points. |

69 racing I was the one the tech inspector asked too take a second look for him. I've seen my fair share of hobby carbs and have helped with tech before. He wanted to be 100% sure before he dqd. Give him credit for that. The gage fell through on the right side with no rocking or pushing. I used 2 fingers and let it dangle as Kirk Neihouse himself showed me how to do. The carb was illegal no questions asked. I hate to see people dqd and I'm 100% sure Tyler didn't mean too. I was not there for the others. Tyler if you are in need of a carb to borrow get with me I have one.

I'm not bashing you Brandon. I've helped Tyler the last 2 years, and he is not the cheating kind of racer! Just so happens bad luck hit him that night, and now we got the problem fixed. On another note, does it surprise you Crawford backed out on you setting up the track? |
| Bigg Johnson Racing Chass | Posted on 6/19/2013 1:05:37 PM
Nope not at all could see it coming from a mile away. When I spoke with him I told him at least 10 times that if I did it it would be my way or I would walk. He would have nothing to do with it. I think after he seen that I had theboth the support of the drivers and the knowledge backing me to guarantee I was going to have a nice track and make him look bad he bailed out. According to a guy who has probably never done anything with dirt in his life other than weeding his wife's garden all myself and the 80+ years of dirt experience I had helping me was going to do was screw it up. |

Yeah doesn't surprise me one bit that Crawford backed out. Great track conditions would attract more drivers cause it would hopefully make the show run smoother. But Crawford nor the fair board realize that! |

Unfortunately His ego and attitude is running our track into the ground. |

It is well on it's way out. They really need to get a new racing committee. Back when, the flagman made the calls, not someone sitting in the air conditioning. And what the flagman said was final. And for goodness sake don't touch the paint on his car with yours. Of course if he decides to mix paint with yours, they didn't see it. And you know that a nice driving track would embarass him. But the drivers would really appreciate a good track for a change.

I never did see eye to eye with Al Langdale but I'm pretty sure both the entire racing community and myself would welcome him back with open arms. Really miss the days when Beatrice really did thrive with Al at the helm, Rob Sundermen on the flags, and Dennis giving us a great track every week. |

I agree, great crowds, large turnout of cars, driveable track. |

Good tracks = more cars, more cars = more fans, more fans = more money. you add that all up and it equals success. JUST MY OPINION!
Rubber side down! |

O.K enough I have been to several tracks this year and Beatrice is no different than any other track as far as car counts except Eagle and they have location. Yes the track was wet for the heats last week that doesnt institute the drivers being * which was fine in the heats. You cant blame dirty driving on track conditions evey week example last weeks features. The officials and the track people dont wreck cars drivers do. Beatrice just has the biggest cry babies as locals in racing and always have. Read facebook, drivers don't come back to Beatrice because of poor track conditions which besides a couple of minor issues compared to the tracks I have seen this year is not bad it is how they are treated by local drivers. Brandon Johnson put your application in for the track promoter next time since you think it is so easy. I cant wait to judge! |

The Fairboard has needed overhauled for the last 20 yrs plus and hasn't happened. Al Langdale, lol. Was always funny watching him pull his britches up when he would run down the stairs from the booth. I remember when racing was good, grew up in the late 80s & early 90s watching 2 classes of cars at beatrice on saturday nights, Flyers & Pro-ams and you had 70 cars on any given night and you had to actually run your heat race to get in the feature or you was in a B,C or D feature, not like it is now make top 4 and get the invert and rest at the tail, they dont have to try, need some incentive to actually race, used to have heat race points & trophy and cash dashes. Ya the track was heavy last week and heavy tracks don't make a driver but no one wants to drive on a sheet of ice in the heat race either. Track was smooth. Can't blame driver for the track having issues, if the drivers are causing the issues maybe they should be reprimanded. What happened to drivers going into driver pits and not getting kicked out for it, that not the rule anymore ? saw last week Swarthout in 2R's pit after the heat race, even greeted him at the scale by kicking his door, also Vanover 2 weeks ago in Tyler Phelps pit, i know there was other instances of it last week. Rules, looking at carbs but not at rims ? Beatrice has a past of running cars off, always has. Only tracks around getting cars are Eagle, I80 gets the cars from upnorth area. Albion doesnt get mass amounts of cars either, Mid-continent, NP or Lex doesnt get them either. |

It's no secret every track has its problems and it is always going to be that way. When you are in a competitive sport like racing, your always going to have a difference in opinions. That being said, It is also no secret that Beatrice Speedway has become a joke. These "typical" problems have gone over and beyond out of line at this point. The track leaves the drivers with the option to follow the leader or take the risk of passing and destroying their car and the other drivers car. You compete more with the politics of the track then the actual drivers. As a fan I go there to see a show. I want to have fun! I don't want to deal with all the drama. |

I go to lex weekly and they pull ok car counts atleast in the hobbys, sport mods and stocks they have atleast 3 heats of each..only class down really is the a mods, and they only get 4 four cylinders. |

When it comes to tack conditions you have seen one lane follow the leader each all year. Everyone knows that heavy race tracks make everyone e fast. Which turns into a crash fest like we have had at Beatrice all year. Just look back at all the cars that have been destroyed in the last 2 weeks alone. People cant afford to trash there stuff week I. And week out. Which also directly effects car count. Where was Metz there for a couple weeks. Pretty sure he was at home with a destroyed car. Ask Adam Armstrong if he is getting tired of fixing cars. If it weren't for a spare Jake Harms would be a spectator too. His spare also got destroyed Friday night. Is slick the answer?? All I know is you don't hear many people complain about racing in the slick as long as there are 2 lanes to race. Not to mention you tear up about a 3rd of the equipment. Keep the dust down and you keep the spectators happy. Look at Toby's shows always slick always great racing. Couldnt get much better of race than the Dylan Murray battle at spring nationals. Yes eagle has location but you can't make excuses for the local guys that choose to stay home on Fridays or better yet drive right on past to the next track. You can't make excuses for the people who use to be weekly racers at Beatrice and have now said screw that place. Where's Dylan Smith?? Guys races everywhere and anywhere but yet chooses to stay home over going to Beatrice. Your best advertising is by word of mouth. When you have all your drivers complaining about a crappy race tracks and terrible officiating you not going to pull cars. Long story short Beatrice Speedway falling apart from the inside out and if you don't want it to be another weed patch like Deshler or Red Cloud people need to come together and force change. |

Dylan Smith runs I-80 on Fridays. |
| Bigg Johnson Racing Chass | Posted on 6/20/2013 3:48:09 PM
And when i80 rains out???? |
| Semidriver65 | Posted on 6/20/2013 6:13:57 PM
Could run Albion as its probably just as close from Osceola to here i suppose |
| dirttracker96 | Posted on 6/21/2013 4:19:26 PM
i dont understand how a carb in the Hobby Stock class gets you DQed but a carb in the sport mod class you get told not to bring it back. Rules are put in place for everyone to follow. When someone breaks the rules it doesnt matter who it is they have to be enforced the same. |
