Eddie money said it best Gimmie some water!!!!! that would make it at least a lil competitive. Until some big time engine builder comes up with enough cash to give IMCA its going to be this way for a long time

thanks, so I guess im lost on why everyone doesn't like the crate idea?? They are cheaper then the open motors and showing that they are just as competitive... |
| Youngblood | Posted on 5/17/2013 3:41:52 PM
Sure they are competitive, hold it to the floor and go so to speak, less "petaling the gas" but they work best at the tire eating tracks, like this one with river sand......... |
| DTRacer89 | Posted on 5/17/2013 4:08:30 PM
I seen sobbing and smith running up front with crates at i80.. |
| 13wicked | Posted on 5/17/2013 5:17:55 PM
So buy won if they were losing people wouldn't care but since there beating the big money motors crate killers its not fair cry cry cry. No one says y have to spend 15000 on a motor that's the point of crates all three classes. It's just pissing people off that a truck motor winning races. I like it. Kep the wins coming smith sobbing wilkinson prauner etc...
risk it to win it |

13wicked i think you hit the nail on the head...i find it funny that those crate killer motors are getting killed by what they are suppose to be beating.. |
| Semidriver65 | Posted on 5/20/2013 10:02:39 AM
Fryeboy 55 in sportmods started deep in the field and passed a lot of cars before he spun in his Crate killer engine. |
| 13wicked | Posted on 5/20/2013 8:44:18 PM
Yea heard fryeboy is wanting to Try a crate motor
risk it to win it |

| lumpster | Posted on 6/16/2013 2:08:29 AM
Whatever, its NOT his fault he is related to you. The only clown on here is you. If IMCA would let you claim an A feature win, you would try that also. GOOD LUCK to Kyle Was the 16k car even there??? Sure didnt notice it!!!

TomeShane where were you Thursday? Are you afraid of these crates as well? lumpster - if not wins perhaps the ability claim drivers!?!?! Just a thought |
| Racing2013 | Posted on 6/20/2013 3:52:57 PM
A-Mod class: Crate vs. claim? 1.Make a crate run a 100 lbs. on front bolted on and marked! ( no scale at US 30) 2. take the wing off or add it to claim. Most of crates got special headers, carb. & valve springs and then take it to be broke in. You got over 10k in the motor! (Crate) Spec motor run spec parts. Simple I say. You can still build a good claim for around 5k! B-mod: claim let them run a 4 barrel would make it interesting also. Simple IMCA rules changes would make both crate and claim be on the same page. Other area tracks seem to have a good mixture of crates and claims running up front but that takes moisture. Not everyone has at least 2 cars - 1 with crate & 1 with a claim to pick which one you want to run for the evening. Simple rules changes there would help that also. Just some thoughts |

Crate Speedway you can see that as you walk in gate! |
| ThomeShane | Posted on 6/20/2013 11:04:55 PM
Has nothing to do with the ability of the drivers a little track prep goes along way when it's one lane at the top gonna be tough for any open motor to compete with a three inch spoiler give all engines a spoiler and see what the difference is jmo which everyone is entitled to but I'm not hiding behind a name thanks Shane Thome which is how it's spelled!!!

TomeShane/ThomeShane- So if I understand your above message correctly that if you buy a crate you automatically win(I would think todd modd would be all about that if it were the case)? DRIVING/DRIVERS have nothing to do with it?!? Seems from pre to post crate rule the same drivers are winning. Like my grandma always said "The cream will always rise to the top".... |
| Racing2013 | Posted on 6/21/2013 9:38:09 AM
It has nothing to do ability of the drivers but the comment of the cream will rise to the top? What a different from 2012 to 2013? Simple rule changes would work. 1. Add 100 lbs. to the front of a crate or let the open motors run Alumi. heads. 2. Take the spoiler off or add it on. 3. Run crate only spec. headers, carb. and valve springs, Spec. Elect. box or spec. distrib. Anything that is bolt on must be a spec. part! IMCA Stamped! IMCA makes money, Open motor run whatever. Simple reasons but true. At least the small business owner ( Engine builders, parts builders) would have a chance, That's what it really boils down too! Money! IMCA (General Motors) vs the small town business owners! Same thing has happen to US 30! Big time teams are running the place! Little guys are out! You can see that as you drive into the place! And then walk through the gate! Lack of track prep, no scale, no tech. results the same. If racing continues to follow this same path we won't even be able to post comments on this web site won't be any racing left. I wonder what the comments would be if IMCA only pick 1 chassis builder for each class? We could keep costs down? IMCA would get there money, but then everyone would be on the same page? Crate (GM) chassis vs Open chassis? |
