I think #92 (Adamy?) won street stock and 04 (Tad Pospisil) won Late Model.

dirtragPosted on 7/10/2012 11:04:27 AM

ok thanks. so the 04 pospisil won with his 2-barrel motor. looks like the 525 crate deal shows he doesnt have any advantage. he still beats them with the 2-barrel motor. car and setup go along way.

Well I think just the 11 to 1 car should be the only one that comes back then? Why bring the 525 back when you do so well with the SLMR with it? That 525 is just way out of hand at albion against the regular's, it's not fair and should have never been aloud to run....

dirtragPosted on 7/10/2012 12:50:51 PM

why? they've taken all or any advantages away from him. one week its smaller ristrictors, one week its add more weight, one week its take more spoiler away, one week its lower deck height. ok you get my drift. dont matter what ENIGNE combination he has, its car and setup.. along with a driver that has it figured out. JMO. im just glad they made it clear he couldnt run this race with the 525 motor. and he comes with his old car and 2-barrel motor and still wins. just so you know he was 2 to 3 tenths faster last night than with his new car and 525 motor.

I have watched this talented young driver all year as he worked so hard to comply with any and all restrictions handed to him. However, he took it all in stride apparently. Congratulations, TAD, you deserve this win! Good job!

First of all he is the one who asked for the option, second gramps bitched like hell when they made him add weight! If you would've seen gramps bitch in pits when he didn't win one night you would think diffrent about him takin in stride. The kid can drive no doubt but don't forget the 525 rule is his rule that he asked boone county raceway to add nobody else has that motor!

GPPosted on 7/11/2012 12:03:43 AM

You are right, they added it and now wish they wouldn't of but they did, he has won with it or without it. You can't can't disallow the motor now half way though the year when it was allowed at the start! If the rule is out there to run it why did nobody else take advantage of it? There were 3 604's in the top ten last night do these guys need to add weight? I think the motor has no place in a grand national class but they allowed it so that is the the way it is.

Brute ForcePosted on 7/11/2012 10:49:08 AM

Rules state if your running aluminum heads or aluminum block you must weigh 2550. Make him hang 200 pounds and then well see if he still wins.

dirtragPosted on 7/11/2012 11:10:54 AM

lol. read above...they got that big ole 525 so choked down with ristrictors im suprised it even runs. some of you will never get it. he does NOT have a motor advantage.

surprised it runs lol thats funny!Like i said before he can drive and we know he can win in 2bb car But I'm pretty sure 525 is advantage whole diffrent power curve with 4bb just my opinion. If he has 2bb car why did he want that rule I'm assuming he will bring the best car on friday that he thinks has the advantage

vintage peachPosted on 7/11/2012 12:28:50 PM

Dirtrag, you are obviously a very smart person! The lad has talent and works hard to get the car set up right - watch him in the pits! He also races every chance he gets - lots of seat time invested, and it sure shows - watch how he corners - smooth! He just gets better and better and it can be hard for some of us old-timers to swallow. He's just very good and works very hard. I am definitely a fan of the 04!

use2racePosted on 7/11/2012 12:53:59 PM

As I recall the idea at the beginning of the season was to just run the car with the 525, they put the other car together for Tads dad to run part time instead of his 4 cylinder.. Tad is a very talented driver and gramps has a lot of money that he is willing to spend to give his grandson the best equipment money can buy. These guys have been around racing of one sort or another for many years and apparently know what needs to be done to win. Congrats to tad on the win monday night I bet theres alot more to come. As for Jerry complaining ya he is very passionate about racing and isnt scared to let everyone know when he has a complaint, sometimes he might be wrong sometimes he might be right at least he doesnt normally come on here to rant and rave he takes it right to the person who he wants to yell at.

been there done that

dirtragPosted on 7/11/2012 1:00:46 PM

Vintage, nope wont ever claim to be smart or even close but ive been around this game along time and i do know the how's and why's of what makes them fast. and it gets more sophisticated all the time. the 04 has a good teacher and good equipment.

Make him hang 200 pounds with a 2 barrel. That would be fare.

fivestarPosted on 7/11/2012 3:11:10 PM

1. Limit horsepower with restrictors and a two barrel = less wheel spin
2. 200 extra pounds added to the car = more traction
3. Less wheel spin + more traction = embarrassing everyone when the track gets slick

Just a thought.

Brute ForcePosted on 7/11/2012 3:13:33 PM

200 pounds by the mid plate. Just a thought.

theracerPosted on 7/11/2012 4:36:51 PM

i bet the 525 cost them less than what some the others are running

vintage peachPosted on 7/11/2012 6:11:19 PM

Wow, if we all put as much effort into getting ourselves better as we do into figuring how to fairly handicap Tad Pospisil, we just might have a good chance against him! Just saying...

hawaiian punchPosted on 7/11/2012 6:40:50 PM

I agree vintage peach he is fast and set up probabley is most of it but if he run his 2bl every week nobody could say a thing the motor should of never been allowed. He is smooth and could probabley beat 3/4 of field with less motor but thats not the point

Brute ForcePosted on 7/12/2012 3:49:17 PM

Its not even close to being fair vintage peach.
