Since the early 1900s Belleville, Kansas has hosted thousands of drivers and hundreds of thousands of race fans. That first auto race in 1910 initiated what fans experience todaybreath-taking speeds on what most will agree, The Worlds Fastest Half-Mile Dirt Track. The lure of the Belleville High Banks is more than just super-fast speeds; it has an atmosphere which cant be duplicated, an atmosphere which cant be explainedonly experienced. On July 3rd, 1910 three drivers broke ground in auto racing history and established Belleville as the longest, most consecutively operated race track in the world in terms of years. While the three original cars have long since disappeared, the brand names remain known. Ford, Buick and a White Steamer placed the High Banks on the face of Americas racing map. Not many race tracks on our planet boost a museum commemorating local auto racing history. Belleville, Kansas can boost. They have earned the right to boost.

will "high banks" night be rescheduled? | | Wayne Dake | Posted on 5/10/2008 10:43:47 AM
Yes it will! Barb will study the schedule and determine when 'High Banks Hall of Fame Night' can be factored in.
Would you like to meet Belleville's first winner?
Maybe you had other plans on July 3rd, 1910 and couldn't work the High Banks into your schedule that day?
Maybe, with the July 4th, 1910 holiday in mind, you started partying early and your eyes could not focus on the road map to Belleville?
Maybe fuel costs had just soared to .17 cents per gallon making you re-think the trip to Belleville?
or)
Maybe it had rained so much that the highways (which were dirt then) were impassable?
98 years ago, W.W. (William Wayne) Brown of Kansas City won that first race in Belleville!
With a little time on your hands because of no racing tonight, please meet W.W. Brown on SPEED SECRETS iVision at:
